7 FACTS TO KNOW ABOUT THE FASHN COLLCTR:

I am a recycling enthusiast–possibly maniac–depending on how full the moon is. I’m pretty sure I’ve fished out a tiny scrap or two of paper, cardboard, paper clip etc that some naughty member in my household has casually tossed in the trash and have replaced it into the loving abyss of our always busy recycling bin! Every little bit helps the environment, right?
This is another reason why I made sure my accessories line, Aurelia + Icarus, uses packaging that is 100% recyclable or reusable and plastic-free and that all pieces are created in the most sustainable way possible.

Many of my ideas evolve from my extensive travels, living and working abroad. My squeaky, rickety suitcase has rolled over 40 countries and 160 cities—and counting. I get a lot of inspiration from people watching and exploring interesting markets in exotic places like Marrakesh, Dubai and Singapore.

Exhibitions are my latest, thang! When I travel, I am sure to abscond from my fellow travellers and smoke out interesting venues hosting intriguing shows or curious exhibits. Viktor&Rolf in Rotterdam and Heavenly Bodies in New York did my head in!

I am short. There, I’ve said it. Living-low, getting the down-low, down to the ground, microscopic me. It’s probably why I’ve taken all those extra, beautiful inches denied to me and replaced them with clothes and shoes and recycling bins…

I love being financially savvy! In order to balance the rate of spending money, you’ve got to grow it, right? Minding the markets (financial ones!), investing in the right stocks and bonds to make my money grow makes my bank account happy!

My favourite style cities are Stockholm, Tokyo, New York and London! Each is so individual and bangs to their own beat. I’ve been lucky enough to live in 3 out of 4 of those, which really helps understand the culture more and why people dress and think the way they do. My post on Stockholm will be out soon!

My favourite color is….everything! There’s always a place for every shade in the world and I embrace each hue! Color makes life spectacular, no?

For me, I thought of it because it was what I was going to name my child if it was a girl. I had a boy, so the rest is history! Where did you hear of the name from?
